His research interests include plasticity, damage of ductile materials under dynamic loading, elasto-plastic constitutive theories at finite deformation, thermo-viscoelastic constitutive theories at finite deformation, strengthening and toughening mechanisms of composite materials, and micromechanics of heterogeneous media. He has published more than 100 scientific papers, and a book “Fundamentals of Continuum Mechanics” (in Chinese). In addition, he is also the coauthor of another book and editor of several sets of conference proceedings in the field of plasticity; and serves Acta Mechanica Sinica and Applied Mathematics & Mechanics as Editorial Board member.
