We would like to invite you to submit an abstract to the Symposium on "Mechanics and Characterization of Micro/nanoporous Materials and Applications in Energy and Environments" at the 2015 SES meeting to be held at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, October 25-28, 2015.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

--Mechanics and design of micro/nanoporous materials

--Interface mechanics of functionalized micro/nanoporous materials

--Micro/nanoporous materials for energy storage and environmental purification

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will host a Symposium on "Advanced Nano/Biosystem: Design, Fabrication and Characterization" to be held in Urbana, Illinois, USA, September 25 to 27, 2013. The primary objective of the symposium is to stimulate interdisciplinary discussion on recent advances in the rapidly evolving fields of nano/biomaterial design, fabrication and characterization among physics, chemistry, biology, mechanics, and material science.

The energy/bio/nanomechanics group under the direction of Prof. Xi Chen at Columbia University is looking to recruit a highly motivated and independent postdoctoral researcher to study, based on computational nanomechanics and multiscale modeling, the mechanisms of energy absorption, conversion, harvesting, and storage using nanomaterials. The initial appointment is one year and the position can be renewed based on performance.
