It has trained over 90,000 engineers since its foundation in 1780 by the Duke de la Rochefoucauld Liancourt, and has since then been a founding member of Paris Institute of Technology. The PIMM laboratory is located within the historical site of the school, at the border of the Latin quarter, in the heart of Paris.</p>
<p>The employment contract is for 3 years full-time, starting preferrably on the 1st of October. Net salary is about 1750 EUR per month.</p>

</p><p>A postdoctoral fellowship is available at Paris Institute of Technology (ParisTech) to work on generalized continua modeling.</p>
<p>The aim of this project is to probe the pertinence of generalized continua models by maximizing the non-standard effects of such models. It consists in a holistic approach including experimental, computational and modelling work. This project, funded by CNRS and Arts et Métiers-ParisTech, through F2M (Fédération Francilienne de Mécanique), is a collaboration between several laboratories in the Paris region. See the file attached for more details.</p>
<p>The candidate should have obtained a PhD in solid mechanics, materials science, or any related field. He/she is expected to conduct advanced experimental work, as well as enriched simulation and modelling. A prior experience with one or more aspects of the project is expected from the candidate, i.e. coding and/or scripting, field measurements, generalized continua, finite element implementation, auxetics, etc.</p>
<p>The experimental work will be conducted at Ecole Normale Supérieure within the <a href="http://goo.gl/f4lJKd">LMT-Cachan</a>, while the modelling and numerical implementation will take place at Arts et Métiers-ParisTech (in the <a href="http://goo.gl/3YiZqP">PIMM</a> lab) which is located in the heart of Paris. Net pay is about 2000 EUR per month. The position is to be filled as soon as possible, for a period of 12 months, with a possibility of extension.</p>

Its research works focused primarily on material aspects. Over the past two decades, they have also turned towards numerical simulation and computational structural mechanics.</p>
