Then the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering invites you to apply for a 1.0-year Postdoc position funded by the IFD project “Cyber-physical systems for machines and structures – CP-SENS.”<br /> </p>

<p>Job description
</p><p>You will develop a software platform for Digital Twins of machines and structures in collaboration with an industrial partner, world leader in sensing technology. The first part of the work will be on establishing the functional requirements of the platform from two application case studies. The second part of the work will be to prototype the platform and demonstrate it using two test benches available at the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering of Aarhus University.<br /> </p>
<p>Your profileApplicants should hold a Ph.D. Degree related to the fields of virtual/hybrid testing and/or structural health monitoring, computational mechanics and dynamics.<br />
</p><ul><li>Strong background in computational mechanics and numerical analysis.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of both theoretical and experimental aspects of structural mechanics.</li>
<li>Experience with sensing and control systems used for structural testing/monitoring.</li>
<li>Substantial experience in scientific computing and programming e.g., using MATLAB, Python, Julia.</li>
<li>Good communication and language skills (the project language is English).</li>
<li>Good teamworking skills (the project is carried out in a team of 4-6 people).</li>
<li>Highly interested in developing skills and competences in software engineering.</li>

<p><strong>Application procedure</strong>
</p><p>Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee, and each applicant is given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns him/her self. Once the recruitment process is completed a final letter of rejection is sent to the deselected applicants.</p>
<p><strong>Letter of reference</strong>
</p><p>If you want a referee to upload a letter of reference on your behalf, please state the referee’s contact information when you submit your application.
