applications of maths in the study of fractured surfaces

Hello everybody,

Please recommand me bibliography or the links on the WEB concerning the applications of different maths in the study of fractured surfaces. Thank you very much. In my country, Romania this domain is not know very well. Best regards from Romania!

Math is just a tool. I don't think you can find a specific 'math' related to fracture. For example you use a lot of partial deferentiation in working with variables in fracture parameters. Depends on the application, the mathematics you would use defers. I learned some of these 'math' by just studying related topics in fracture mechanics.

Mastery on self is Strength

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for your message. Please recommand me some bibliography or the links on the web, if it's possible. Thank you very much.

Best regards from Romania!

From your initial question, it was unclear what you were interested in.  If you are interested in fracture mechanics, there are a number of lecture notes on fracture mechanics.  If you are interested in some other aspects of fracture, please explain.

When I refer at the applications of maths in the fractured surfaces I thought at the Fractal Analysis or the Fuzziy sets.Thank you very much>

I do not agree. I got my MS from University 'Politehnica' of Bucharest, Romania and I took a two semester course on Fracture Mechanics. The course covered both theoretical and computational aspects of linear elastic and elasto-plastic Fracture Mechanics. I consider that course was as advanced and consistent as similar courses from US universities and the knowledge I got at that time served me really well during the Ph.D. program in US. I think the textbook we used was called "Integrity of metallic structures" (in Romanian) by T.Pana and S.D. Pastrama. As Dr. Suo mentioned, you can find on iMechanica notes on Fracture Mechanics by famous scientists, who made important contributions to this field.
