2015 Thomas K. Caughey Dynamics Award - Professor Gábor Stépán

The Executive Committee of the ASME Applied Mechanics Division is pleased to announce and congratulate Professor Gábor Stépán, Professor of Applied Mechanics, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, as the recipient of the 2015 Thomas K. Caughey Dynamics Award.  This award will be presented at the AMD Honors and Awards Banquet, tentatively scheduled on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, during the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition, to be held in Houston, Texas, November 13-19, 2015.

The Thomas K. Caughey Dynamics Award, established in 2008, and is conferred in recognition of an individual who has made significant contributions to the field of nonlinear dynamics through practice, research, teaching, and/or outstanding leadership.

This award is given to Professor Stépán in recognition of his sustained, original, and groundbreaking contributions to the field of nonlinear dynamics and vibrations with particular application to mechanical systems governed by delay-differential equations and for his dedication to research mentorship, dynamics education, and professional leadership.

The award, which includes a medal, a plaque, and an honorarium of $1,000, will be presented at the AMD Honors and Awards Banquet, during the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition, to be held in Houston, Texas, November 13-19, 2015.
