IMECE 2010 Student Travel Awards and Best Papers Contest

The AMD executive committee (EC) just announced the student travel awards and best paper contest for IMECE 2010. Between 10 and 15 students will be selected for travel grants of $750 each. The students who receive travel awards will also become eligible to participate in the best paper contest. This is a great opportunity for young students to present their work and meet other researchers during IMECE 2010.

The selection process will start from AMD technical committees (TC), who will nominate candidates first.  Interested students should consult with their advisors then submit the following materials to the corresponding TC:

1) one page CV

2) an abstract of a paper that they would like to present at IMECE

3) a draft presentation

The deadline for TC to submit nominations to AMD EC is March 26. Therefore, in order to be considered, you should send their applications as early as possible. You may ask your advisor about the TC information or you can ask the symposium chair directly. The following are a few key deadlines in this process:

March 26, 2010           Submit nominations to AMD EC.

April 15, 2010             Announcement of travel awards.

November 10, 2010    Travel awardees submit their final presentations to the Student Paper Contest Committee Chair (TBA).

November 30, 2010    Announcement of contest winners.
