room acoustic

Hi

If I have a 3d rectangular room,  and I want to model 1/2 of that room because of symmetry boundary condition. in acousticFEM problem, what is my symmetry boundary condition in symmetry plane?

I mean at seymmetry plane which kind of constraint I should apply on pressure of the sound wave?

thanks alot

damping of wood

Hi

is damping of wood, function of frequency?

I mean the wood damping is frequency dependent or no?

if yes, any body can help me to find a reference for numerical data of wood damping as a function of frequency?

 thanks alot

transient FEM analysis of frequency dependent material damping

Hi all

I want to do a transient analysis in ANSYS or ABAQUS software.

but the material has a frequency dependent damping.

how can I simulate this property in FEM software?

sound pressure level

Hi

how SPL (sound pressure level) is measuredin a building or roomtest space?

especially I want to know what time is needed for measurement of SPL?

I mean because SPL definition has a time integral, (this quantity is measured in special interval of time)

I need to know how long is needed for measuring SPL ?

in other words what is interval of time integral in definition of SPL?

thanks alot

boolean operation

Hi

I want to model a plate that connected with stiffening beams in ANSYS.

beams and plates has rigidly connected together, and there were no joints.

for model this, I first make an area and secondly extend this area to make a volume.

then I divide this volume to seperate plate and beams.

this is my question :

what relation exist berween components when they divide from one volume.

I mean suppose we have a volume, then we divide it in to two parts, what relation exist between this two new

volumes.

Acoustics Finite Element

Hi

I want to model a building acoustic problem in a FEM software like Ansys or Abaqus.

which of the FEM softwares are more convenient for modeling of this problem, (I mean FEM acoustics.)

thx.
