Does anyone know where I can find the stress field of a perforated strip?

Tianlei Li's picture

I am trying to get the shrinkage rate of a void in a finite grain which is simplified as a rectangular region within a circular hole. So I need to find out the stress field to get the chemical potentials. The hole is big and Lame's method is off the table. It seems that no one have worked out this stress field before. I can only find out the stress field of a perforated stip worked by R. C. J. Howland (Stress Systems in an Infinite Strip, On the Stress in the Neighbourhood of a Circular Hole in a Strip Under Tension). However, I think there maybe a fatal flaw in Howland's papers that the stress function he used (Eq. (6) in the first paper)  doesn't satisfy the biharmonic equation indeed. So, does anyone know if there is anyone else who have worked out the stress field of a perforated rectangular plate or a perforated strip before? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
