postdoc fellow position on modeling and simulation of stress and corrosion induced crack and failure in metals and alloys

A postdoc fellow position is available in the computer-aided engineering research lab at the University of Cincinnati. The research will focus on modeling and simulation of stress and corrosion induced crack and failure in metals and alloys.  The potential candidate shall have a Ph.D. degree in mechanics, mechanical engineering, material science or related areas with emphasis on material modeling and simulation. Past experience with atomistic simulation, finite element methods and computer programming using fortran, C or C++ under Linux or Windows OS is highly desired. The initial appointment is one year and the position can be renewed based on performance. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with experimentalist and access to state-of-the-art facilities.  Interested applicant shall send a resume with research statement and references to dong.qian@uc.edu.
