Crack propagation analysis in cold rolling process using abaqus

Respected Sir,

I am Devarajan K doing M.TEch Engineering Design from Amrita University, coimbatore in india. I am doing my second year Project on Crack proapagation analysis in cold rolling process. i used low carbon steel for simulating the analysis. I used ductile damage property ( fracture strain, stress triaxility and strain rates) and in damage evolution i used displacement type procedure. i got crack initiation throughout the corner of the strip in both sides. but the i cant not able to propagate the crack. suppose it will propagate means, the material get fully failed. so i wnat to initiate the one crack and i wnat to see how it will propagate effect of the rolling process parameters. For this ananlysis, i dont know how to give damage proaperties. Can i use same ductile damage property or can i use maximum principal tensile stress damage property ( ductile damage separation law in abaqus).
