Research assistant at Zurich University of Applied Sciences

We're looking for a research assistant at the Institute of Computational Physics (ICP). We use multiphysics models to design and analyze electrical energy converters such as electrochemical devices (fuel cells and water-splitting cells) and solar cells (photovoltaic).

The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW)
is one of the largest and most productive universities of applied
sciences in Switzerland, with a strong presence both nationally and
internationally. Among the ZHAW’s distinguishing features are
interdisciplinarity
and a close connection to professional practice.

Your task will include work on research and development projects for fuel cells and solar cells, more specifically:

  • development of models and their implementation in industry-related project
  • development of graphical user interfaces for the models
  • analysis and evaluation of measurement data and parameter studies

The candidate should have a degree in physics, mathematics or
engineering. We are targeting applicants with experience in numerical
discretization techniques to solve partial differential equations and
programming languages (C, Mathematica). Review of applications
will begin 1 December 2012.
