International Conference on Multiphysics Modeling of Solids, 6-8 October 2014, Paris, France

The international conference on "Multiphysics Modeling of Solids" will be held at ENSTA-ParisTech in Palaiseau, France, on 6-8 October 2014.

The conference will bring together scholars from around the world to discuss recent developments in the field of modeling of materials and structures. The following topics are included in the conference program:
• Constitutive modeling and thermodynamics,
• Multiscale and multifield modeling,
• Non-smooth modeling in statics and dynamics,
• Gradient models in plasticity and viscoplasticity,
• Phase change, shape memory alloys,
• Fatigue, damage and fracture,
• Instability and bifurcation,
• Experimental analysis in thermomechanics,
• Thermomechanical analysis in structural engineering,
• Structural optimization.

A special session titled "From Smooth to Non-Smooth Solid Mechanics" will be organized in collaboration with the European research group Lagrange in honor of Professor Michel FREMOND.

Invited plenary speakers:
• S.S. ANTMAN, University of Maryland, USA,
• J.-B. LEBLOND, University Paris 6, France,
• Q.P. SUN, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong,
• J.R. Willis, Cambridge University, UK.

Authors are invited to submit a one-page abstract by June 30, 2014 by e-mail to the address submissions.mpms2014@ensta-paristech.fr

Authors of selected outstanding contributions will be invited to submit full-length papers for publication in a special issue of the international journal Annals of Solids and Structural Mechanics (Springer).

More information about the event can be found on the conference website
