J-Integral calculation through ANSYS for a curved crack front (half penny shape) in 3D body

Hi all,

I am a M.Sc. student in a UK University and doing a project in fracture mechanics. I am able to write ANSYS macro for 2D cases but the same approach is not working for 3D case. Could someone give me some clue on how to estimate the J-Integral through ANSYS for a curved crack front in a 3D body (Kolbes specimens).

Hi Amar,

I am trying to find J-integral, I read your post, can you help me calculating J-integral for my problem. My problem is a simple 2-d plane strain plate with center crack located at an angle 60 degree.

Thank you

hi sir... even i am also working in fracture mechanics.. I have been stuck up on the in EVALUATION OF J INTEGRAL for 2D geometries... Plz can u help me...

hi guys,

i read your views about this topic. Me also doing project on same topic. I think we need some detail discussion. And where can i find your post.

hi friends.I am a M.Sc. student in kerman University of iran and iam simulating cracks with meshless methods; i need some notes on numerical calculations of J integral.I will be so happy if some one can help me.

thanks for all.
