Post Doctoral position - Mechanical Engineering
EnergyX Lab (Energy Exploration Laboratory) at Michigan Technological University is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill an open post-doctoral position. The group has extensive collaboration and active research projects in different energy-related areas with several leading US national laboratories as well as US companies.
The selected candidate will participate in the two following projects:
1 - Development of next-generation natural-gas driven equipment. This project is funded by DOE, a U.S. national lab, and Samsung.
2 - Development of next-generation SiC 3D-printed high-temperature high-pressure heat exchangers. To effectively address demands of different US industries in upcoming decades, it is critically important to develop next-step technologies, components, and devices that can operate at temperatures above 1100°C (2012°F) and at pressures above 80 bar (1160 psi) through advanced ceramic-based 3D printing technology. This project is the first ever one of its kind to tackle this challenge. The project is funded by ARPA-E, a U.S. national lab, and 3 private high-tech US companies.
