Two PhD / MS research positions are available in Laboratory for Multiscale Material Modeling (Qin's lab http://eng-cs.syr.edu/directory/?peopleid=13687) at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at College of Engineering and Computer Science of Syracuse University for Fall 2020.

The research program focuses on using integrated modeling-processing-optimization methods for bio-inspired design and multiscale computational modeling of structural materials with advanced mechanical, thermal and interfacial functions. The research involves atomistic molecular dynamics modeling, coarse-grained or finite element modeling and/or 3D printing and mechanical testing for characterization, etc. Students studying Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and related fields are welcome to apply. For more information, go to: http://www.zhaoqinresearch.com/

Candidates are required to be highly self-motivated and have strong interests in material innovations. People with experience in computational modeling, simulation and programming are highly encouraged to apply. Master degree with related research experience is a plus but not mandatory.

If interested, please send your resume or CV including your GPA, TOEFL or IELTS, and GRE score to Dr. Zhao Qin at zqin02_at_syr.edu. Deadline of application is January 15th, 2020 for Fall admission.
