PhD Studentship: Modeling and Design of Smart Bioinspired Structures

Payam Khazaeinejad's picture

A PhD studentship in the field of bioinspired materials and structures is available in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kingston University London.

The research project focuses on design and evaluation of smart biomaterials that can identify biological, chemical, and physical stimuli due to changes in the environment and can adapt and variate their function according to these changes in order to achieve optimal functionality. Confidence in optimization results and the subsequent mechanical performance derived from detailed geometric modeling and numerical simulation will be achieved through carrying out a variety of experimental tests using additive manufacturing technologies in collaboration with the project’s research partners in the UK and USA.
