Opening for a postdoc position at UT Austin

Dear Colleagues,

We are writing to ask for your help in our search for a full-time post-doctoral researcher to work on a research project involving multiscale modeling and experiments under the supervision of Kenneth M. Liechti and Rui Huang at the University of Texas at Austin. The position will be for up to two years. The research objective is to explore and understand the process-structure-properties relationship for multilayer thin-film coatings, thus providing a mechanistic basis for optimizing the manufacturing processes to achieve mechanically robust coatings with embedded temperature sensoring capability. Close interactions with industrial partners are expected throughout the project. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mechanics of materials and computational methods. Additional knowledge of machine learning is favored while familarity with additive manufacturing would be helpful. Prior experience with experimental techniques such as nanoindentation and interfacial fracture characterization are also desirable.
