Description of Position: Applications are invited for a Research Associate position available immediately in the Department of Energy (DOE) Predictive Science Academic Alliance Program (PSAAP) Multidisciplinary Simulation Center (MSC) at the University of Colorado Boulder. The Research Associate will conduct research on nonlinear micromorphic continuum mechanics and its implementation in Tardigrade-MOOSE ( https://gitlab.com/micromorph/ ), and upscaling from grain-resolving Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS), with in-situ data analytics and Machine Learning (ML) of constitutive equation forms.  The application is to simulate fracture and fragmentation at the grain length-scale of bonded particulate materials with experimental validation and upscaling within nonlinear micromorphic multiscale continuum mechanics.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD with nonlinear continuum solid mechanics background and computational mechanics modeling experience.  Applicants must be a citizen of a non-sensitive country (from the perspective of the United States of America (USA)), U.S. permanent resident, or US citizen.

Application Procedure: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and CV via https://jobs.colorado.edu/jobs/JobDetail/Research-Associate/48853

Contact Information: Prof. Richard Regueiro ( richard.regueiro@colorado.edu ).
