Two Ph.D. positions on Reliability of Composite Materials, Auburn University, Starting Jan or August 2024
We are looking for self-motivated PhD students to study (1) the failure probability and reliability of advanced composites; and (2) the design and manufacturing of composite materials and structures that are not just lightweight and strong but super reliable.

Desirable PhD applicants may have a background in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering (Structures), Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Prior experience in probability and statistics, computational and experimental solid/structure mechanics, and composites are preferred but not required. A master’s degree in the related field is also preferred.
