Faculty Position-Nano Mechanics, Nano Materials
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University Of Houston Cullen College Of Engineering is seeking a person for a tenure-track position in the broadly defined area of theoretical and computational material science at the level of Assistant Professor. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in engineering or a related discipline in physical sciences and an ability to maintain an internationally recognized funded research program. A successful candidate will exhibit complimentary research skills and a willingness to work with the existing mechanics group and experimental materials scientists. The candidate must have a strong interest in teaching courses in mechanics at the undergraduate and graduate levels and develop new ones. Interested persons should submit a curriculum vitae detailing academic and professional experiences, archival publications, research support, research and teaching summaries, and research and teaching goals/vision. Candidates must arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent directly to the chair of the search committee, Professor Chen, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, University of Houston, Houston, Texas, 77204-4006. The desired start date is the Fall of 2008.
