Post-Doctoral Fellow position available at the University of Sydney, Australia - Modelling dislocation-precipitate interaction

The School of Civil Engineering at the University of Sydney, Australia, is currently looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to study the effect of dislocation-precipitate interaction on the strength of Aluminium alloys using Molecular Dynamics.

To succeed, you will need a PhD in Materials, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline. This role also requires exceptional skills in the field of modelling and simulation, with preference for experience with Molecular Dynamics, dislocation and precipitate in alloys. Strong programming skills in C, C++ or Fortran in Linux/Unix environments and previous experience with supercomputers are desirable.

This role offers an outstanding opportunity to work with leading researchers on a cutting-edge research project that has potential for application in a wide range of computational materials science, whilst developing your career in an exciting, emerging discipline.

This position is full-time fixed term for 2 years, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. The position might be extended for another 3 years subject to performance and funding availability.

Remuneration package: AU$78k – 95k p.a. (which includes base salary AU$66k - 80k, leave loading and 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation).
