Tenure-track Assistant Professor postion in Engineering Mechanics at the University of Texas at Austin

The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Texas at Austin has a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning September 2010 in the area of Mechanics of Solids, Structures and Materials. We are particularly interested in the area of Mechanical Behavior of Materials for Extreme Environments that encompasses light-weight structures and multifunctional materials for application in manned and unmanned air, space and underwater vehicles and structures, and materials and structures related to energy industries such as wind, solar and nuclear.
 
Applicants for tenure-track positions should have received, or expect to receive a doctoral degree in Engineering prior to September 2010. Successful candidates are expected to supervise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a sponsored research program, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and the engineering profession.
