Measurement of the Bauschinger Behavior of Sheet Metals by Three-point Bending Springback Test with Pre-strained Strips

Submitted by Shunlai.Zang on

In numerical simulation of sheet metal
forming process, the cyclic mechanical behavior of metallic sheet is
required to calibrate the material parameters of the combined
isotropic-kinematic hardening model. Therefore the development of
experimental device and method is an important work in order to
measure the cyclic mechanical behavior of metallic sheet. There are
several experimental devices which can measure this cyclic mechanical
behavior of sheet metal mainly to measure the Bauschinger behavior.
Often, these experiments can be classified into three main
categories: (i) in-plane tension-compression test; (ii) in-plane
cyclic simple shear test; (iii) bending-reverse bending test.

Defining density as a solution dependent variable in VUMAT (Abaqus/Explicit)?

Submitted by Shunlai.Zang on

Hi All,

I am trying to simulate tooth deformation. It involves that the density of tooth changes with deformation. I want to know is it possible to define density as a solution dependent variable in VUMAT?

 Thank you in advance!

Question on the visualization softwares of texture.

Submitted by Shunlai.Zang on

Hi everyone,

I want to know if there are some opensource softwares to transfer the x-ray raw data to representative discrete pole figure data by Euler angles ? Now I know how to calculate ODF from x-ray raw data with the help of "Mtex". But I dont know how to get representative discrete pole figure data by Euler angles, which is used for CP numerical simulation, from ODF.

Thank you very much!

What are the differences between increment strain defined by dstran and dfgrd0,dfgrd1 in abaqus?

Submitted by Shunlai.Zang on

Hi everyone,

I am used to use 'dstran, stran, drot...' to develop my user subroutine UMAT and VUMAT codes in Abaqus. But recently I read some publications in which they use dfgrd0, dfgrd1 and dtime to develop their codes. I want to know what are the differences between these two ways?

   Thank you very much!

What are the differences between "strain hardening" and "work hardening"?

Submitted by Shunlai.Zang on

I think the concepts from the constitutive theory, but in many papers the researchers seem that they dont differentiate them.  So could you give me an exact explanation about it?  Thank you.
