Open Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate position in computational modeling of the eye

Postdoctoral fellow or Research Associate position is available immediately at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. We are seeking a highly motivated, independent, and creative individual with a Ph.D. in Biomechanics, Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.

 The candidate is responsible for ocular/soft tissue computational modeling in the Ocular Biomechanics and Imaging Laboratory of the Cole Eye Institute. 

 Core responsibilities include:

·        Finite element modeling of the eye with a focus on patient-specific modeling corneal disease and surgery;

·        Inverse solutions and elastography and inverse optimization;

·        Development of advanced fiber-dependent FE models using Abaqus and Python;

·        Integration of OCT-derived anatomic and elasticity data in patient-specific models for clinical trials in simulation-based medicine.

 

The research efforts are coordinated and synergized with the company OptoQuest, the leader in patient-specific modeling for refractive surgery.
