A linearised consistent mixed displacement-pressure formulation for hyperelasticity

chenna's picture

If you are working on FEM for hyperelastic materials, then you might be interested in our new paper.

We proposed an improved displacement-pressure FE formulation for hyperelasticity that (i) yields symmetric matrices irrespective of the volumetric energy function and (ii) is accurate in the compressible regime, in addition to its applicability to the nearly as well as truly incompressible case. We demonstrated that our two-field formulation is a simplified and efficient alternative for the three-field displacement-pressure-Jacobian formulation for hyperelastic materials (whose strain energy density functions are decomposed into deviatoric and volumetric parts).

Welcome any feedback. Happy to discuss in detail if you are interested.
