Two new books for continuum mechanics of solids

I would like to announce two new books that Prof. Lallit Anand and I have just published on continuum mechanics of solids.

The first book Continuum Mechanics of Solids is a graduate introduction to the topic.  It has a wide coverage that includes elasticity, plasticity, viscoelasticity, coupled problems (thermoelasticity, piezoelectricity, chemomechanics, poroelasticity), fracture and fatigue, among other topics -- all at the introductory graduate level.  The material is primarily presented in the small strain setting, but there are two chapters that touch on finite elasticity.  The coverage strongly overlaps with the introductory solid mechanics courses taught at MIT and UC Berkeley.  This book is currently available in the UK and select other countries from Oxford University Press.  It will be released in the US on August 20.

The second book Example Problems for Continuum Mechanics of Solids is a companion book with over 180 problems with fully worked out solutions.  We have published the second book as a self-publish, in order to hold down the costs (and to allow us to updated it on a more frequent basis).  It is only available on Amazon.

Preview text for both books can be seen on Amazon.  We hope the community will find these two new books useful.
