PhD Positions in Mechanical Engineering at NJIT for Spring 2021

Open PhD positions are available in the RAD Lab , in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). The research will involve multiscale computational modeling of complex fluids and soft matters with particular emphasis on biological flows of active matter in the living systems and particle-laden multiphase flows. The desired start date is Spring 2021.  

Applicants are expected to have an earned B.S. or M.S. degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering,

chemical engineering, or applied mathematics. The preferred qualifications include:
• Background in fluid mechanics, transport phenomena, and numerical algebra
• Experience in developing numerical models and computation algorithms (CFD or/and FEA/FEM)
• Hands-on experience with scientific programming in Fortran, C/C++, Matlab, Python, or
   other object-oriented programming languages is a PLUS
• Strong interest and self-motivation to perform cutting-edge research in real-world engineering and to
   publish scholarly papers.
