I have a postdoc position for a project involving the design of bioinspired composites for real applications. The goal of the project is to work with companies that are currently adopting this technology. The position is available immediately for a period of 6 months and may be renewed thereafter.  Applications will be reviewed immediately and continue to be accepted until the positions are filled.  Interested candidates should submit a CV, a cover letter describing their research experience and interests, and the names and email addresses of at least three references to Prof. Pablo Zavattieri (zavattie@purdue.edu).

The successful candidate will participate in the modeling aspects, which will require some programming and analysis. The successful candidate will fulfill the following requirements: (i) A Ph.D. in engineering, materials science or physics, (ii) experience in at least two of the following areas: finite elements, fracture models, composite modeling, experimental characterization, modeling of biological and biomimetic composites. (iii) programming experience (iv) excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication skills. The candidate should also be self-motivated, independent and willing to work in a multidisciplinary team. (v) More importantly, due to the current freezing in visas, it is important for the candidate to be already in the US.

For additional information, please contact Prof.  Pablo D. Zavattieri (zavattie@purdue.edu).
