 The  Multi-Scale Mechanics and Materials by Design Lab at Purdue University is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to fill a postdoctoral research position in the field of biomimetic fiber-reinforced composites. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with Professor Zavattieri and collaborate with leading companies in the composites industry, focusing on a novel application of these materials.

Post-doctoral position at Purdue University in architected materials

I have a new postdoc position  for the design, computational modeling and experimental testing of metallic architected materials using additive manufacturing in collaboration with a manufacturing company. The successful candidate will have (i) a Ph.D. in engineering, materials science or physics, (ii) experience in at least two of the following areas: finite elements, fracture and damage modeling, experimental characterization, and testing of large specimens. (iii) Excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication skills.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Computational Multi-Scale Materials Modeling Lab in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University to work with a multidisciplinary/multiuniversity team in the area of modeling of biomineralized and bio-inspired materials. The goal of the program is to uncover fundamental design rules and develop simple and basic scientific foundations for the predictable design of bio-inspired materials that are light-weight, tough and strong.
