Snow Load Simulation Correlationof the Light Commercial Vehicles - 2012

In this study, the analysis parameters have been investigated and a correlation with physical test results has been set. This test is much more important for a light commercial vehicle (LCV) because LCV has bigger roof area, more straight style and as a result of these two properties it has heavier roof panel than the other vehicle.

Structural Optimization of a Transversal Rolling Mill Component to Improve Flexional Stiffness - 2012

The structural component investigated is a roll mill bar which sustain a plug for atransversal rolling of steel pipes. The improvement of the stiffness of this component is the target of the simulation to achieve the desired flexional displacement. An optimization tool is used to achieve the target in a proper and fast way.

Topology Optimization of Nacelle Components with ATOM - 2012

In this paper we identify two components as candidates for weight reduction. In order to achieve this goal without sacrificing the current performance of these components we use ATOM optimization software
within Abaqus environment.

Development of Realistic Simulation Techniques to Predict Cure-Induced Microcracking in 3D Woven Composites - 2012

The main goal of this study is to improve the understanding of cure-induced microcracking through the development of realistic numerical models validated with experimental data. Specifically, microcracking predictions of unit cell FEA models of two different fiber architectures are compared with results of micro-computed tomography scans of actual panels with the same fiber architectures.

Finite Element Analysis of Rubber Treads on Tracks to Simulate Wear Development - 2012

This paper will describe the process of simulating the mechanism of wear that occur at the treads when a track is rolled over a surface. The objective of this research is to obtain an analytical procedure, validated with field tests that will help us understand better the conditions that affect rubber erosion at the treads to develop new rubber tread designs.

Is it possible to open beverage packages virtually? -2021

This paper show possible selections of material models in conjunction with material damage models, adequately describing thin polymer films behaviour.
Comparison between the physical test and the virtual test, exerted to fracture Mode I – Centre Cracked Tension, showed a good correlation for the chosen modeling technique.

Simulation of the Quasi-static Crushing of a Fabric Composite Plate - 2011

Simulation of the Quasi-static Crushing of a Fabric Composite Plate is a methodology for modeling the crushing behavior of composite structures using
Abaqus/Explicit. Very good quantitative and qualitative agreement between the
numerical results and experimental data is shown, demonstrating the utility of
Abaqus/Explicit for assessing the crashworthiness of composite structures and
reducing the amount of costly experimental testing.

Isight Optimization of Material Parameters used in the Abaqus Worldwide Side Impact Dummy - 2012

An automated Isight optimization workflow for the calibration of material
parameters is presented. Using component models from the Abaqus Worldwide Side
Impact Dummy (WorldSID) we will validate one of the calibrated material
parameters by comparing the response of several dummy sub-assemblies with
experimental data.

Fluid-Structure Interaction Analysis of a Prosthetic Aortic Valve using Abaqus/Explicit Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics - 2012

The smoothed particle hydrodynamic (SPH) analysis method in Abaqus/Explicit
overcomes this difficulty. In this Technology Brief, the SPH
technique will be used to determine the FSI response of a generic prosthetic
heart valve.

Abaqus/Standard Coupled Simulation of Thermally Assisted Gravity Drainage of an Oil Sand Formation - 2012

Abaqus/Standard provides an analysis capability that allows for coupling between
heat transfer, pore fluid flow, and displacement. We demonstrate how this capability can be used to simulate the thermally
assisted gravity drainage of an oil sand formation.

Two-Pass Rolling Simulation - 2012

Hot rolling is a basic metal forming technique that is used to transform
preformed shapes into final products or forms that are suitable for further
processing.  The important aspects of this manufacturing operation are the
elongation and spread of the material during the rolling process.

Fully Coupled Fluid-Structure Interaction Analysis of Wind Turbine Rotor Blades-2012

A fully coupled fluid-structure interaction analysis of a wind turbine rotor is
presented. Abaqus/Standard and STAR-CCM+ are directly coupled through the
SIMULIA co-simulation engine. With this approach, a high fidelity modeling
strategy can be used to develop an accurate understanding of the blade dynamics.
