The School of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics, Ningbo University, is looking for cadidates for all subjects in the broad field of mechanical engineering and mechanics.  In addition to traditional field of impact and shock waves, piezoelectric devices, material durability, and metal forming, the school are also initiating new directions like vechicle engineering, fluid mechanics, occean engineering, solid mechanics, thermodynamics, vibrations, strength, and other related subjects.

An introduction to metamaterials and waves in composites

My book on metamaterials, "An introduction to metamaterials and waves in composites" has been published on June 16, 2011 by CRC Press (Taylor and Francis).

The book is meant for students, researchers, engineers, and educators who want to get a basic grounding on the theory that is the basis of recent excitement about negative materials, cloaking, transformation optics/acoustics and other wave phenomena in composites.

Faculty Positions at Piezoelectric Device Laboratory, Ningbo University

The Piezoelectric Device Laboratory has immediate opennings for recent PhDs.  We are engaged in researchs in piezoeelctric acoustic wave resonators with supports from government and indsutry.  The Laboratory has been grwoing and we would like to have new members to accelerate the pace and expand collaborations with the fast growing piezoelectric acoustic wave device industry in China and other countries.

Need an example of wave propagation in a plate using abaqus

Hi every body,I'm a senior student in mechanics and really I need an
example of wave propagation in a thin plate to conduct my project. At
now,main problem for me is how to apply load to get answers with
obvious wave propagtion contour plot without any thing more in just one
refelection.
