Hi Friends
I am simulating a 400KV power tower crash after cutting wires from one side by ABAQUS 6.10.
it is a 2D simulation, but I have tow Important problems
1- How I can add Body force for importing Ground gravity (g) for Beam Elements?
As I found, the elements can't carry out this kind of load
2- How I can apply Ultimate Stress for joints? I must simulate cutting and droping every component
looking for your kindly and warm help!

Body Force
Dear ho1mo
When you simulate a truss structure in Abaqus , you must know that you can't use body force in the loading stage because the truss members are designed theoritically to carry only tension or compression forces , as a result if you assign body forces for the truss link members this means that there would be bending moments in the members ( this is not allowed theoritically in truss design ).
Additional info
Just to add to what is replied above,
A truss structure can have only nodal forces (i.e. forces at joints), and one member can not be devided into more than 1 elements. More than one element for a member may produce shear, and trusses are supposed to carry only axial load (i.e. very weak in bending and shear). If the forces are such that it would produce shear and moment, it's better to model it as a beam and not truss (coz it's violation of truss assumptions).
