Drilling Metals using Abaqus

Hi All,

I am simulating the drilling process of Al2024 using Abaqus and I am struggling with Thrust force results.

I am getting excellent Torque results similar to the experimental ones however my Thrust force profiles are underestimated and have an odd shape.

any suggestion on how to tackle the problem

I tried changing mesh density and element size as well as friction coefficent but nothing seems to work.

I attached two image showing one of the results and comparison for thrust force and torque.
