problem in full transient analysis

hi friends

i have problem in full transient analysis in ANSYS 11.0

kindly give me solution.

i have data .....

BEAM FOR IMPACT LOAD

lenth=144 inch

area=120 sq inch

moment of inrtia=1000 inch rest to four

depth=10 inch

elastic modulas=3605 kips per sq inch

density of material=8.6805E-5  kips per cubic inch

FOR SOLUTION..(force 23.8 kips is linearly decreases from time = 0 to 0.042 at centre of the beam)

at time = 0 sec , force = -23.8 kips

at time = 0.042sec , force =0 kips

time increament = 0.002 sec

           thanks .....a lots

I think you can EITHER do a transient options on, apply stepped loading (kbc,1) for the first loadstep to reach 23.8 kips in some negligible time (time,0.00001), and then apply ramped loading (kbc,0) with time,0.042, OR do a transient analysis with transient options switched off in the first load step (timint,off), and apply static loading, and then turn on the transient options and apply ramped loading as before.

how can take model mass in each element .

For transient analysis it is necessery to define a model mass ....AND .... gravitational acceleration for X and Y direction for 2-D , and all directions for 3-D model .

  In the other software releted to civil engineering when we go for transient analysis must be define model mass and gravitation acceleration .

 Also ANSYS in directly calculate the centre of mass or C.G. ??
