ABAQUS model for special joint element and spring element
Tue, 2009-01-13 18:09 - jordan2
Very urgent two enquires:
1. How to model rotational spring element in order to define a curve
like M=k*(theta) where theta is the rotaional angle? It seems that
abaqus could only provide F=kx model.
2. there is a dashpot connector element which behaves like F=C * V
(where C is a constant), can I ask how to model F=C*(dv/dt)=C*a(where a
is the derivative of change of velocity)?
Thanks.

hi jordan, have you
hi jordan,
have you solved your problem? how did you model a rotational spring? I use a hinge connecter element and then define the spring like elastic behavior. I suppose this should model the rotational spring, but I dont get the same eigenvalues computed by Abqus with those of my code. While if no definiton on elasticity behavior, meaning equal to pure hinge, the eigenvalues are similiar. Do you know what the cause is?
