Dear everybody.

I would like to analyse the interaction between buried steel
pipes subjected to seismic excitations using ABAQUS. The steel pipe is created
as a shell model and the soil is modelled as a cube around the pipe. [see
attachments]. My problem is

(1) I do not know how to create a seismic load in ABAQUS.

(2) which section of the soil model is suitable for the
application of the seismic load.

Can any one please help me

Lee
