Dear Colleagues,
The Thirteenth
Pan-American Congress of Applied Mechanics (PACAM XIII) will be held in
Houston, TX, USA. The conference dates are May 22-24th, 2013.
We cordially invite you to participate in Phononics 2013: The Second International Conference on Phononic Crystals/Metamaterials, Phonon Transport and Optomechanics – to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, from June 2–7, 2013. The conference covers the following themes:
(1) phononic crystals, (2) acoustic metamaterials, (3) wave propagation in periodic structures, (4) nanoscale phonon transport, and (5) optomechanics.
More information available at: www.phononics2013.org.
Based on several requests, the deadline to submit abstracts for the Pan American Congress of Applied Mechanics XIII has been extended to the 1st of February. This years PACAM will be held in Houston, TX--the first time PACAM is being held in North America! The conference will feature plenary talks by Professors Alan Needleman, K. Ravichandar and Roger Fosdick.

You are welcome to submit abstracts to the MS 4.5 "Multiscale Computational homogenization for bridging scales in the mechanics and physics of complex materials", organized by P. Wriggers, K. Terada, V. Kouznetsova, M. Cho and myself at the 12th US National Congress on Computation Mechanics (USNCCM), July 22-25, 2013, in Raleigh, USA.
The deadline fo abstract submission is February 15, 2013.
The topics of the MS can be found here:
IMDEA Materials Institute (www.materials.imdea.org) is looking for post-doctoral researchers to work in two research projects devoted to:
- Development of multiscale modeling strategies to simulate the mechanical performance of structural composites under impact
- Development of microstructure-based multiscale models to simulate the mechanical behavior of Ni-based superalloys
