The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Curtin University Sarawak, is seeking highly motivated academics in the areas of Solid Mechanics, Materials or Design & Manufacturing to join its team. Curtin Sarawak is the largest international campus of Western Australia's Curtin University, which is a member of the Australian Technology Network (ATN) and widely recognised for its practical research focused on solving real-world problems. Curtin Sarawak is located in the city of Miri, with oil & gas, agriculture, biodiversity, forestry and tourism as the major industries.
European Commission' s JRC (Joint Research Centre) is organizing the 2nd workshop on physics based modeling of material properties and experimental observations in collaboration with TOBB University of Economics and Technology. The workshop will be held in Antalya/Turkey on 15-17 May 2013, and the special focus will be fracture and damage mechanics.

Job description: We are looking for a smart, dynamic, and highly motivated individual with a PhD to perform groundbreaking research in biomechanics with applications to ophthalmology. We are currently developing engineering tools for the diagnosis and therapy of ocular disorders (e.g. glaucoma and myopia). For more information regarding our In Vivo Biomechanics Laboratory, please visit http://www.bioeng.nus.edu.sg/ivb.
Dear Colleagues, we are pleased to announce the forthcoming EUROMECH Colloquium 533, “Biomechanics of the Eye”, in Genoa, Italy, 22-24 July 2013. There is additional information about the Colloquium at the following website: http://www.dicca.unige.it/euromech-533/
There is an immediate opening for a graduate research assistant for the coming Spring 2013 semester (or starting immediately as the case may be) with Dr. Unnikrishnan, in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at The University of Alabama. (http://aem.eng.ua.edu/)
