My Top 10 Free 3D Model Databases

There are plenty of websites or repositories for 3D models. In practice I’ve often found myself searching through a lot of them when looking for a particular model. In my opinion, there isn’t a one stop shop solution. Instead, there are several really good websites that are worth to check out. In this post I’ll present my favorite 10 3D model databases divided into these four categories:

  • CAD models: If you are a mechanical engineer and are looking for models to re-use in your own design, then these repositories are for you.

Linking Abaqus 6.14 with Intel Parallel Studio_xe_2016.compiler

I need your help very badly. I am trying to link Abaqus 6.14-2 with Intel parallel Studio_xe_2016. I am not able to link it so far even though I followed many posts that are found on internet. Here's what I did:

A perspective paper on flexoelectricity by Professor Pradeep Sharma (University of Houston) is published in the March (2016) issue of the Journal of Applied Mechanics.  A perspective paper describes an important, emerging field in mechanics.  The first perspective paper, by Professor Huajian Gao (Brown University), has been downloaded more than 8000 times since its publication.  This new paper by Professor Sharma is the 3rd perspective paper published in JAM.  The paper is attached.

Huang's Crystal Plasticity UMAT taking into account Bauschinger effect for cyclic loading (kinematic hardening)

Hello,  

In the Crystal Plascticity UMAT model for Abaqus (by prof. Hunag) the Bauschinger effect which is important for cyclic loading, is not considered.  

Is there any edited version of this UMAT considering this effect for cyclic loading (by also considering kinematic hardening)?

ANSYS terminology... confusing

Why ANSYS calls the well known "element coordinate system" with their own term, "solution" coordinate system? 

Why ANSYS calls  the well know method of applying a "bias" for mesh refinement with their own term, "inflation"? -- I looked it up. INFLATION: to cause to expand or distend with air or gas.

Why ANSYS calls  the well know method of "partitioning" a solid model with their own term, "slice"? OK, may be "slice" is descriptive, but "inflation"? and "solution cs"?
