Seeking a postdoctoral position in computational mechanics / applied physics / ultrasonic engineering

Submitted by tigrorybka on

I am very interested in a postdoctoral position in computational mechanics, ultrasonics, applied physics, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering. I am proficient in FEM, FDTD, Moments methods. Experienced in ultrasonic measurements that involve ferroelectric crystals, thin films, periodic structures.  Please see attached resume.

Postdoctoral Position in Compuational Mechanics of Energetic Materials

Submitted by cuitino on

A postdoctoral position is available in the area of multsicale modeling of energetic materials at Rutgers University working under the supervision of Prof. Cuitino. This is a multi-investigator project which will be supported partially by the federal grants.  Candidates with a strong background in consittuvive modeling of coupled mechanical thermal chemical phenomena,  parallel finite element and multiscale methods are highly encouraged to apply.

spring in Abaqus

Hi

I am modelling two plates that have been attached to each other using screws. i have modelled some springs for the screws. the shell element has been used for the plates. i want to assign the spring element (say SPRINGA) for the screws but i do not know how.

thank you.

Physicists Won 2010 Nobel Prize for Discovery of Graphene

Submitted by Teng Li on

As announced on 5 Oct. 2010, Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov of the University of Manchester won the 2010 Nobel Prize in physics "for groundbreaking experiments regarding the two-dimensional material graphene". Geim and Konstantin first reported the experimental observation of graphene in 2004 .  Novoselov, 36, is also the youngest physics laureate since 1973.

Postdoctoral position in mechanical and material engineering

Submitted by gayoub on

My name is Georges Ayoub; I am looking for a postdoctoral research position in mechanical and material engineering in the field of the polymer science, polymer behaviour and fatigue.

I defended my PHD at the beginning of this academic year (2010/2011). I am very motivated to start a Postdoctoral position, at the end of my thesis, in an Anglo-Saxon country.

FSI analysis of a simplified turbine using a sliding mesh

Submitted by Mustafa Taşkın on

Hi all,

I exercised "Prob37: FSI analysis of a simplified turbine using a sliding mesh" ADINA tutorial. I got an error message and the program stopped solving.

The error message:

ERROR CODE ADF2075

-R option cannot be used for adaptive-mesh or sliding mesh. You can use -m -M options.

What are the -R,-m, -M options? How can i solve this problem?
