defining interaction between a lot of surfaces in abaqus.

Submitted by rezarozi61 on

 Dear all:

During simulation in ABAQUS , I encountered a severe problem . I used ABAQUS Explicit but I could not define the interactions between for example 200 particles.I mean I used surface-to surface contact (explicit),so I had to define many many interactions between every particle with the others ,which is waste of time.It seems that I have to use  General contact(explicit) ,but by using general contact (explicit),an error occured which says :"CONTACT currently does not support the use of 2D surfaces".

I appreciate any ones help.

My Ph.D. Defence

Submitted by Ajit R. Jadhav on

I am pleased to inform you that I will be defending my Ph.D. thesis, formally in mechanical engineering, at COEP, University of Pune, India, on the next Sunday (i.e. 20th September, 2009).

The title of my thesis is: "A New Approach to Computer Modeling and Analysis of Certain Fundamental Field Problems from Engineering Sciences."

How to build a contact model involved the plastic defoemation?

Submitted by Mike lee on

Hello, everyone.

Recently, I am trying to build a plastic contact model to describe teh relationship between the plastic deformation and the contact force, which is a crucial point in my work that dealing with the grasp force in robotics. So, anybody has some ideas about this? Actually, I am attempting to find a analytic model.

cyclic loading

Submitted by sagar_009 on
Hi,
I am trying to carryout the  analysis of a pressure vessel.

Which is subjected to 100cycles during its life time.

The component is subjected to cyclic loading i.e presure of 0-10 MPa and temperature of -10 to 50 deg.

How to give this cyclic loading to carryout analysis.

Thanks and regards

Stress fields for finite crack in an infinite plate under tension

Submitted by vinay kumar B A on

hi...

I am working on cracks emanating from a hole,  using Complex
stress potential method.  Now i have obtained the Stress Intensity
Factor ( SIF ) and now i want to plot the stress field or stress
contours. please guide me how i can get stress field.

Thanking you.

Yours Sincerely

Crack modeling

Submitted by vinay kumar B A on

hi.

I want to model a " Two cracks in infinete plate in ansys" but it is possible to use one quarter point element at a time.

please help me how to model two cracks in ansys or  if it is easily possible in abaqus then also i am interested.

thanking you

Stress fields for finite crack in an infinite plate under tension

Submitted by vinay kumar B A on

hi.

I am working on " crack emanating from a circular hole in anisotropic medium".  now i got the K1 ( SIF`s) using complex stress potential method. Now i want to represent the results in the form of stress field around the crack.

i am unable to find the stress field around this crack.

i request you to hint the procedure to plot the stress fields.

thanking you.

Yours Sincerely

vinay.
