problem with creep analysis using abaqus

hello everybody

when i am trying to make a creep analysis using abaqus and it is the first time i do that

when i submit the job, there is an error and a message appear this message is:

ERROR: DEGREE OF FREEDOM 11 AND AT LEAST ONE OF DEGREES OF FREEDOM 1 THRU 6

MUST BE ACTIVE IN THE MODEL FOR *COUPLED TEMP-DISP. CHECK THE

PROCEDURE AND ELEMENT TYPES USED IN THIS MODEL.

***NOTE: DUE TO AN INPUT ERROR THE ANALYSIS PRE-PROCESSOR HAS BEEN UNABLE TO

INTERPRET SOME DATA.  SUBSEQUENT ERRORS MAY BE CAUSED BY THIS OMISSION

is there anyone who can tell me where is the problem

thank`s a lot

I am a new user of this website. I just want to know how to represent an elastic foundation by using Abaqus..I am doing my undergraduate Project regarding on the analysis of impact of pressurized steel pipelines on elastic foundation..This project requires me to do a simulation on the pipe  that is placed on the elastic foundation which undergone an impact test.

Hi,

I’m trying to resolve a problem of friction between two plates. Everything works fine with the model, I mean with mechanical part (I can see the plates moving, the stress between them…). The problem appears when I insert the last step, the one of thermal analysis ( “Coupled temp-displacement”   step). In the manual they gave some examples so I’ve tried different thing like making this step Steady-state, I gave the boundary condition for this step regarding temperature of the models (temperature of surfaces in contact), but the program still gave me this error:

(DEGREE OF FREEDOM 11 AND AT LEAST ONE OF DEGREES OF FREEDOM 1 THRU 6 MUST BE ACTIVE IN THE MODEL FOR *COUPLED TEMP-DISP. CHECK THE PROCEDURE AND ELEMENT TYPES USED IN THIS MODEL.  )

I see that you have posted this message at the beginning of March this year. I wonder that you succeeded to resolve your problem and if so what was the problem with it.

Check your element type. Make sure that it is suitable for both thermal and mechanical.
