CALL FOR ABSTRACTS FOR THE 5th ANNUAL POLYTECHNIC SUMMIT JUNE 5, 2013 - JUNE 7, 2013

Dear Colleague,

We invite you to submit your abstracts for talks, panels, posters, or workshops and to participate in the 5th Annual Polytechnic Summit that will be held June 5-7, 2013 at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. Please mark your calendars. For more information about the Summit, including abstract submissions and registration information, visit www.polytechnicsummit.org.

The theme of the 2013 Summit “Bridging Boundaries” is an effort to explore how polytechnics are reaching across disciplines, across economic sectors, across town-gown lines, and across international borders to strengthen the quality of education they offer and the impact of faculty and student work.

Former Massachusetts governor and Democratic presidential candidate Michael Dukakis will speak at the Summit’s opening lunch on Wednesday, June 5.  Dukakis, who was governor of Massachusetts from 1975-79 and 1983-1991, was the Democratic Party nominee for U.S. President in 1988.  Currently, he is Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Northeastern University and Visiting Professor of Public Policy at the Luskin School of Public Affairs at UCLA. The governor, whose second and third terms coincided with the “high-tech boom” that made Massachusetts a national leader in technology, will address the nexus of public policy, technology, and higher education. The deadline for abstract submission is March 8, 2013. Suggested topics are below. Early submissions are encouraged. You will be notified by April 5, 2013 if your abstract has been accepted.

With Thanks,Professor Robert Lind and Professor Amanda Hattaway
