I want to do a transient thermal analysis in butt welded joint.The heat flow I have given 3200 watt(Q = efficiency x current x voltage = 0.8 x 160 amp x 25 volt)to the welding zone, given 20 load step(as welding is completed in 20 sec),convection co-efficient = 11.14, emissivity = .4 and applied both boundary condition convection and radiation on every surface except welding zone. But after solving the minimum temperature of the plate is coming in negative.Can anybody tell me what i am missing?

Have you looked at initial conditions of the body?
Environment temperature
You mentioned about convection BC. What is the tinfinity you had given I. e. The environment temperature?

Also check, you are following the necessary steps for giving the temperature input in right set of units. Either in oC or in K. Also what about the environment temperature ?

Suggestion to resolve in K units
I am expecting it to be a minor problem/ minor miss. Please try to resolve the problem by following temp units in K. Check if you are getting same temperature in K units.

how to cool the assembly?
Is there any way to cool the assembly.I cant able to cool it.But for Residual stress generation it has to be cooled.
