Difficulty in using connector uniaxial behavior Abaqus

Submitted by Rojit on

Dear Abaqus User,

Is there any other possible way to model connector uniaxial behavior (cyclic/hysteretic behavior) without using dynamic explicit analysis?  In the manual, it is mentioned that connector uniaxial behavior can be used only with explicit analysis. I am having problem when I chose to run dynamic explicit analysis. The model runs fine with general static step (using cyclic displacement as amplitude). I just need to run quasi static analysis as there is nothing to do with inertia effect.

Also is there any possible way to define more than one loading; lets say the loading follows different loading curve for second cycle of displacement of same amplitude? In abaqus, after unloading (following the unloading curve), connector reloads  from the unloading curve and there is no possible to way to define another loading curve.

Also I would be seeking for any reference (general or advanced demonstrating connector stop, failure etc) if you could have them.
