Looking for Post-Doctoral opportunity in mechanical characterization and impact response of composite laminates

I have been working on the topic of “Impact studies on thermoplastic composite armors reinforced with 2D/3D fabrics” as a part of Ph.D work. In this study, a new lightweight composite material system for body armors from inception to the final product has been developed successfully. Composite armors were manufactured with 2D and 3D fabrics of Kevlar, basalt and hybrid combination, which were produced using in-house weaving facilities. Static and dynamic (high strain rate) characterization of these materials were carried out through ASTM test standards. Experimental impact studies were carried out to study the ballistic impact response of developed composite armors. Hydrocode simulations were also carried out to predict the ballistic performance of composite armors with the new material system.

 I have submitted my thesis and expected to obtain degree in early 2017.The results of my research work have been published in 9 peer reviewed international journals (International Journal of Impact Engineering, Composite Part: B and Materials & Design) and 12 articles in well-known international and national conference proceedings (International Conference on Composite Materials etc.). During my research, I have also been involved in the supervision of 9 M. Tech projects and have gained hands on experience with compression molding machine, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Universal Testing Machine (UTM).
