The Computational Mechanics and Methods Group (CM3) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kentucky is seeking highly self-motivated individuals who have great interests in the broad research area of computational mechanics and methods. Ideal applicants should have strong background in solid mechanics and great interests in computational modeling & simulation using nonlocal meshfree/meshless methods, such as peridynamics. Related research experience in impact modeling and simulation is a plus.

We are looking for an applicant with Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or allied fields with prior experience in finite element modelling and mechanical/damping characterization.  The position is for a period of up to 36 months, depending on the performance of the candidate. There might be possibility of registering for the MS (by research) or PhD program at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, if found suitable in the corresponding selection procedure of these programs.
