Scientific assistant – Material characterization and modelling

Submitted by engr.imran2k5 on

With around 8,200 students, Brandenburg Technical University (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg is the second largest and the only technical university in the federal state of Brandenburg. It is a research-oriented technical university that offers excellent research opportunities. In the Chair of Mechanical Design and Manufacturing of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, we are looking for a candidate as

Scientific assistant (m/w)

for a fixed term contract with a possibility of obtaining a doctoral degree.

Fatigue loads defination in abaqus

Submitted by engr.imran2k5 on

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Muhammad Imran and I am working on experimental fatigue life calculation of aluminium-silicon alloy and validation of experimental results with abaqus fatigue results. The fatigue simulation is totally new topic for me and I don't have any idea how to apply fatigue loads in abaqus.

During fatigue experiments, 100MPa (constant amplitude, sinusoidal) stress is applied at 20Hz frequency which led to specimen failure after 268220 cycles. I want to input these parameters in abaqus.

von-mises stresses in solid model with and without pores

Hello Everyone,

My name is Muhammad Imran and I am a PhD student in TU, Dortmund. I am performing tensile test simulation in Abaqus for aluminium silicon alloy. I am calculating stresses for three different models, one model is solid (zero porosity) and second model has a cavity inside and third model has some pores inside.
