As you might have heard already, the 2017 SES Annual Conference will take place at Northeastern University, July 25-28, 2017.

Much has been published about structure transformation of nanowires, nanorods, and nanoplates, under mechanical loading. Beyond hypes, the bottom line of these nanostructure tranformation is a simple piece of surface science - surface reconstruction and relaxation, which could be assisted by mechanical loading.
